How do I add someone to my Favorites?
To add someone to your Favorites list, go to their profile, scroll down to the bottom of their page and click 'Add to Favorites'.

How do I remove myself from someone else's Favorites list?
To remove yourself from someone's list of Favorites, click Favourites on the menu. Then go to Find Out Who Has Selected YOU as a Favourite. Click 'Remove' on the right side to remove yourself from their list.

Why can't I find my profile in the search?
Your profile is likely working fine. You won't be able to find your own profile with the search when you're logged in. If others can't find your profile with the search, it's because you don't meet each other's messaging restrictions, found at the bottom of each profile. To modify your messaging restrictions, click here.

How do I know when someone was last online?
The Last Online feature can be accessed from your Inbox.
The time shown lets you know when the user was last logged in to PlentyOfFish. Users who were last online more than 23 hours ago will not have a time shown.
This feature is only available to Upgraded members. To upgrade, please click here.

Sorry, this feature cannot be disabled on your own profile.

How do I know if a user has read my message?
The status of your sent messages is unlocked for all Upgraded Members!

What is Meet Me?

The Meet Me feature allows you to view photos of local users and select whether or not you would be interested in speaking with them.
Your Meet Me is influenced by a combination of basic search settings and the age and distance of users that appear at the top of your My Matches page.

To view users who are interested in meeting you, click on Users who want to meet you.
Clicking on the photo will bring you to the user's profile. Selecting "No" will refresh the page and show you a new account.
Sorry, users cannot be removed from your Meet Me lists.

 

What are Mutual Meet Me and Viewed Me/Meet Me?

When you say you want to meet a users, and they also say that they want to meet you, it is a Mutual Meet Me Match! You can see them by clicking here.

The Viewed Me/Meet Me list shows you the users you said Yes/Maybe to on the Meet Me feature who have also viewed your profile! This is a great way to find out which users are really interested in you.

How do my Matches work?
Your matches are influenced by a combination of basic search settings and your actions on the site. The system identifies the characteristics of the users you generally search for as well as a number of other factors in the system when updating your matches. The more you use the site to search and browse users, the better the system will become at finding appropriate matches for you.

I changed my Country/State/City, but my Matches are still from my old location. How do I correct this?
Please ensure that you have updated your profile with all your new location information. At the top of Edit Profile, update your city, state, and zip/postal code. At the bottom, update your country.

Why are my matches so far away?
If users who are far away are coming up in your Matches, it is because there are not enough local matches in your own city.  Consider lowering your message restrictions here to have access to a larger group of users.

What are login points?
You will receive 30 login points for each day you log in to your PlentyOfFish account. Points are not accrued for Forum Logins. Points are updated at 12:15 Pacific Standard time. If you were online in the previous 24 hours you will receive 30 points.
Your point balance can be found by clicking on a user’s profile, scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking “Send Message”. The number of points you have will appear above the gifts available to send in a message. The maximum number of login points you can have is 6000.
Login Points can be used to purchase inbox gifts, which you can send in messages to other users. You can also use them to purchase a theme for your profile for 5000 points.

What are Goldfish Credits?
Purchasing Goldfish Credits enables you to:

- Send gifts by clicking "Send a Gift Now" on a user's profile.
- Find out if someone read your message.
- Break the ice creatively.

A copy of the gift you sent will appear on the user's profile for three weeks, and will also be sent to their inbox with your personalized message.

What are gifts?
There are two types of gifts:

There are public gifts, where a user has purchased Goldfish Credits to send you a gift. You can buy Goldfish Credits by clicking the 'Send a Gift Now' button on the user's profile. They expire in 3 weeks time. Sorry, they cannot be removed. To buy Goldfish credits, click here.

There are also inbox gifts. These are sent using login points and remain in your emails only. To send one, click 'Send Message' at the bottom of a user's profile, or click 'Quick Reply' and then clicking REPLY again above the text box in a message you've received. The number of points you have available is listed beside the gifts.

What are roses?

Each user receives 2 roses when they join the site. You can then send these roses to other users when composing a message. You can each rose only once in a 30 day period. That is, if you send a rose today, then in 30 days you can send another. So if you send 2 roses today, you will be able to send another 2 roses 30 days from now. You can never have more than 2 roses at any one time. Roses are rare so use them wisely! Your profile displays how many roses you currently have available to send. However, the number of roses you've received will not be displayed on the site.

 

What is the 'Chemistry Test'?
The Chemistry Test measures five broad dimensions of your personality that are essential for building a romantic relationship. You don't need to score "high" on each of the personality characteristics to be in a relationship. Instead, what is important is how your personality interacts with the personality of your romantic partner on each dimension.

A list of users is generated from a statistical model based on thousands of successful couples who have taken our Chemistry Test. To remove the Chemistry Test results from your profile, click on Chemistry onthe top menu bar, and select 'Remove Test Results From My Profile'. To remove the Relationship Needs Assessment Results click on 'Chemistry' tab and select 'Take/View Relationship Needs Test' and then on 'Remove Test Results From My Profile'.

To remove a testimonial from your profile, simply click here, then click REMOVE next to the testimonial you want to delete. Please note that removing someone's testimonial about you will also remove you from their Favorites list.

How do I view testimonials written about me?
To view testimonials about you, simply click on , My Profile and you'll find them at the bottom of your profile. To view another user's testimonial(s) look for them at the bottom of their profile.

How do I remove or change a testimonial I've written?
 To change a testimonial (or remove a testimonial you've have written), just go to FAVORITES, click on click on 'Find Out Who Has Selected YOU As a Favorite!', and click on 'Testimonial' under the person whose testimonial you wish to update or delete.
